Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Pre-Sale Surpasses 1.6 Million
Activision is banking on Modern Warfare 2 to sell a lot of copies. Well, if the recent pre-order stats are correct, Activision could be looking at selling more than 2 million copies on the first day. The game has been pre-ordered on the Xbox 360 1.6 million times, and a little less than 600,000 times for the PS3.
Right now, the biggest video game launch of all time is still Halo 3 with 3.3 million units sold within 12 days of being released. Modern Warfare 2 may have a chance to beat those records. Halo 3 had 4 million pre-orders worldwide.
The Modern Warfare 2 numbers are just from the United States. With numbers aside, I think the entire gaming community is very excited for Modern Warfare 2 with its new campaign and updated multiplayer.

well halo is and for a long while be the best selling exclusive and comparing it to a multi platform game is not fair, mgs4,halo 3 and alot would sell more if they were on more then one system |

Or not. Exclusive games are better than multiplatforms. Check out Halo 1 Xbox vs Halo 1 PC. The PC version is crap, but the Box version is so cool :-) |
